SHE-ensya’s corner: NAST, Young Science Leaders Forum, and Imposter Syndrome

Hello Science Fans!

Prepare for one of my most honest videos of all time.

Made the courageous choice (aka mistake) to announce in the recent NAST Young Science Leaders Forum that I was making a science blog… And for better or worse, the thought that some of our honored national scientists might glimpse at my content this week made me spiral into an all out meltdown.

But that forum/workshop was certainly worth it!

I learned so many things about collaboration, building research cultures, mentorship (so lucky I was and still am being mentored well), and science & society.

It rekindled my passion for helping communicate science to a wider audience, and well…

It also triggered my feelings of inadequacy aka my imposter syndrome. *sigh*

To my viewers, to the young amazing STEM advocates and science fans out there, I hope this video helps with your anxieties. Because your dreams are worth it, and you deserve those dreams to come true.

Thank you so much for dropping by!

If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to contact me, your resident Filipina scientist, in the comments section below.

And remember, when in doubt, always use your (con)science!
