What is it like to teach science to children? | SHE-ensya What’s It Like Series

Hello Science Fans!

I believe science should be taught to children. Science as a process cultivates curiosity. It creates a way of thinking that is objective and unbiased. As a process, it helps children form opinions on their own, and not take other people’s perspectives at face value, or ignore it altogether. It also create a culture of respect and healthy skepticism.

In this video, we talk about the value of teaching science at a very young age. It goes against certain changes in the Philippine primary education that removes science in Grades 1 to 3, specially since children can form concrete opinions about their like or dislike of science and math as early as Grade 4. And we also meet amazing SHEroes who’ve turned their passion into action, by teaching young learners.

Our amazing SHEroes for this episode are:

  1. Ms. JC Bulan
  2. Ms. Pristine Martinez
  3. Ms. Faye Vince Cruz

I wish our SHEroes more energy and love to continue teaching our kids, and that they can inspire you to take a more active role in inspiring the youth to love STEM!

Thank you so much for dropping by!
