Hello Science Fans!
How can science and technology help reduce inequalities in the Philippines?
In this video, we talk about the current inequalities present in the world and in The Philippines. We look at how the Covid-19 pandemic has made these inequalities more obvious and caused some to worsen. We also discuss the different indicators that the United Nations (UN) has created to help achieve Sustainable Development Goal 10 (SDG 10): Reduced Inequality. We recognize the strengths and weaknesses of different programs and projects to address the social, economic, and even biological inequalities in the Philippines, and the balancing act needed to achieve sustainability. And, of course, we look at the crucial role of STEM for this SDG, and how STEM needs help from other sectors of society in order to achieve its goals.
