Hello Science Fans!
We’ve had an exhausting year, so far.
Have you noticed how “work” seems to be compensating so much for the work from home set-up that we’re ending up spending more time in our deliverables than before? (Or am I just imagining things?)
I’m so looking forward to the short break that the Holy Week celebrations will bring for us, here in the Philippines. This will run from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday. So four whole days with a clear excuse not to check the work email.
Traditionally, this would be spent in the province, with family. After prayers and contemplation, Easter is celebrated with picnics and trips to the beach.
This year will be another somber one, as we are once again in extreme community quarantine (aka #ECQ). The Covid-19 cases in the Philippines are rising exponentially, and so travel restrictions have been imposed again, though they were never fully relaxed in the first place.
Despite this, the holidays provide an opportunity to de-stress.
To slow down.
To do other things, aside from work.
And what better way to do it than gaming?
NOTE: I have other hobbies, too, but I just miss playing so much!!!
The addicting nature of computer and video games has led to it developing a negative reputation. But did you know that playing computer games actually has a lot of benefits?
So for this Holy Week, let’s re-visit a SHE-ensya special we made about the scientific evidence behind the benefits of gaming!
Thank you so much for dropping by!
