Hello Science Fans!
How can science and technology help make our cities in the Philippines more sustainable?
In this video, we talk about the status of cities all over the world — highlighting issues on housing, security, and environmental impacts of cities. We also look at how current conditions of our cities have aggravated the Covid-19 situation. We also discuss the different indicators that the United Nations (UN) has created to help achieve Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11): Sustainable Cities and Communities. We recognize the strengths and weaknesses of different programs and projects to address issues on housing, reducing carbon footprint, and protecting our natural and cultural heritage. And, of course, we look at the crucial role of STEM for this SDG, and how STEM needs help from other sectors of society in order to achieve its goals.
